Last Saturday the sixth National Book Festival, sponsored by the Library of Congress and First Lady Laura Bush, was held on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. More than 70 authors spoke in pavilions with themes of Children, Teens & Children, Fiction & Fantasy, Mysteries & Thrillers, History & Biography, Home & Family, and Poetry. Webcasts from the 2006 National Book Festival will be available on the Festival website along with the webcasts from previous festivals. Dare I confess that I stayed home Saturday and did chores while listening to the C-Span Radio simulcast with C-Span Book TV, which featured the Festival, focusing on the History & Biography pavilion?
The DDC number for the National Book Festival is 002.07973 United States book festivals (built with 002 The book [the interdisciplinary number for the book] plus T1--079 Competitions, festivals, awards, financial support plus T2--73 United States).
