Each year, millions of senior high-school students in the US take college admission tests -- mainly the ACT (American College Testing Program) and the SAT (formerly the Scholastic Aptitude Test) -- that will help to determine which college or university they will enroll in.
This year the good news is that ACT scores are significantly higher: the composite score went from 20.9 in 2005 to 21.1 in 2006.
Both the ACT and the ACT are indexed at the built number 378.1662 in Dewey. This number is built by adding to 378.16 Administration of student academic activities (in higher education) the digits 62 from 371.262 Standardized tests.
As an educator, the news that the ACT scores were significantly higher this year was a welcome and pleasant surprise. We hear so much negativity about our education system that it's great to get some good news for a change!
