Waldorf schools; bowling; central eastern Europe; and handball. Not much in common among these topics, you might think. Except -- they're all subjects of recent updates to DDC 22 prompted by suggestions made by members of the German translation team. You can find a wealth of information about the German translation project at the DDC Deutsch web site. Magda Heiner-Freiling and Patrice Landry's IFLA paper, already recommended by Joan and Juli in this earlier blog posting, describes an important aspect of this exciting project. And September's "New and Changed Entries" document shows how works on central eastern Europe are to be classed with T2--437 Czech Republic and Slovakia. (Handball was covered in July's "New and Changed Entries" and in this blog posting. Access to all DDC updates is available at OCLC's Dewey web site.)
