"Mr. Lee Mingwei will be the first human male to ever birth a baby from his own body," announces the RYT Hospital--Dwayne Medical Center on its web site. Take a look -- it's a very well-produced site. Almost a work of art, you might say. Actually, that's precisely what it is: an art project. There probably won't be any real male pregnancies (in humans, that is) any time soon. But, when it happens, the Library of Congress and DDC will be ready! The LC subject heading "Male pregnancy" was created in October 2004, and DDC editors recently mapped DDC numbers 573.67 Pregnancy--biology and 618.20081 Pregnancy--obstetrics--men to that heading. The South African author Stephen Gray's 1989 novel Born of man (classed at 823) is the only work yet assigned the heading. How long before 618.20081 is used for the first time?
