The Dewey blog is back! A little later than planned, perhaps, but still ... We made it through Thanksgiving and out the other side! All together now: "Oh-two-five-point-four-three-one, oh-two-five-point-four-three-one, oh-two-five-point-four-three-one ..." What's that? Not quite ready for chanting DDC numbers in a celebratory and raucous fashion? Point taken.
Today, December 1, is World AIDS Day, the international day of action on HIV and AIDS that is now in its 18th year. Three groups work together on this initiative: the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), the World Aids Campaign (WAC), and United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG); the aim is to promote the role that local governments play in preventing and fighting AIDS, and to raise awareness of HIV and AIDS in local communities. Works on World AIDS Day are classed at 362.1969792, in 362 Social welfare problems and services. This number is built from the base number 362.19 Services to patients with specific conditions, adding the numbers following 61 in 616.9792 Acquired immune deficiency syndrome.
